The Material Master Data Specialist works corroboratively with the Operational MDM Senior Principal Specialists, to manage, coordinate, gather, and update Material Master Data into the ERP (SAP) System. This Material Master Data is used to support the maintenance of assigned Operational documents, i.e. Bill of Materials, Manufacturing Routing’s, Quality Specifications, and other related Operational Master Data to support the successful operation of the SAP System.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Works collaboratively with senior specialists to assure accurate and timely communication/execution of assigned operational master data tasks.

  • Manage, plan and execute assigned responsibilities, report progress to senior specialists (as required), establish priorities of assigned task and coordinate with the functional area MDM colleagues, to accomplish tasks to meet required deadlines.

  • Assist senior specialists in identifying, analyzing, and resolving data issues, related to uniqueness, integrity, accuracy, consistency and completeness of assigned Master Data.

  • Perform periodic quality assurance reviews of master data for completed workflows.


  • Associate degree (major focus - business, science or supply chain) from an accredited institution with four (4) years relevant experience is required; Bachelor’s degree (major focus - business, science or supply chain) from an accredited institution with two (2) years relevant experience is preferred.

  • An advanced knowledge of ERP Systems is desired as the position will be required to work routinely in an SAP Environment where transactional interdependencies are critical to assure accuracy of all Master Data entries.

  • Background in the pharmaceutical/biologics/fine chemicals/FMCG industry, preferably in Cost Accounting, Supply Chain, Bio / Pharm Manufacturing and / or a Quality Assurance role.

  • Passion for managing information as a corporate resource; recognizes the business value of data.

  • Strong understanding of ERP systems, SAP highly preferred.

  • Strong analytical skills, in terms of both data and process management.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Demonstrated proficiency using MS Office programs (Word, Excel and Outlook)

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction

  • Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required)

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
