Description:

Boehringer Ingelheim is seeking a highly motivated Scientist II/III to join the Drug Metabolism & Pharmacokinetics(DMPK) department at our US headquarters in Ridgefield, CT.

As a Scientist II/III, you will be responsible for conducting in vitro studies to evaluate the interaction of drugs and experimental compounds with drug metabolizing enzymes. You will be expected to evaluate and interpret the data generated and contribute toward the advancement of the field of drug metabolism. Active and productive collaboration with other scientists in the field of transporters, metabolism, and pharmacokinetics will also be expected.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct, interpret, and report data from routine invitro studies using a variety of cellular and subcellular systems such asmicrosomes and hepatocytes.

  • Participate in the development andimplementation of new technologies in the field of Drug Metabolism.

  • Comply with applicable regulations, performall work in a safe and responsible manner, and maintain proper records inaccordance with SOPs and corporate policies.

Scientist II Requirements :

  • B.S. or M.S. degree in Chemistry, Pharmacy, Biology, orother relevant field with 0-3 years of relevant experience.

  • Laboratory experience should include familiarity with invitro cell-based assays.

  • Experience with common molecular biology tools, such ascell culture techniques and quantification of RNA and protein, would beadvantageous.

  • Familiarity with routine LC-MS/MS instrumentationand method development would be beneficial, including the ability to solveassay development challenges.

  • Familiarity with enzyme kineticsand/or pharmacokinetics is considered beneficial.

  • Experience with the safe and appropriate use of radioactivityfor in vitro studies is preferred.

  • Effective oral and written communication skills areessential.

Scientist III Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree from an accredited institution with three-plus(3+) years of experience in related scientific discipline, OR Bachelor’sDegree from an accredited institution with seven-plus (7+) years ofexperience in related scientific discipline or equivalent experience inrelated field

  • Laboratory experience should include familiarity with invitro cell-based assays.

  • Experience with common molecular biology tools, such ascell culture techniques and quantification of RNA and protein, would beadvantageous.

  • Familiarity with routine LC-MS/MSinstrumentation and method development would be beneficial, including theability to solve assay development challenges.

  • Familiarity with enzyme kineticsand/or pharmacokinetics is considered beneficial.

  • Experience with the safe and appropriate use ofradioactivity for in vitro studies is preferred.

  • Effective oral and written communication skills areessential.

EligibilityRequirements:

  • Must be legallyauthorized to work in the United States without restriction.

  • Must be willing totake a drug test and post-offer physical (if required)

  • Must be 18 years ofage or older
