Boehringer Ingelheim is currently seeking a talented and motivated Scientist II/III to join our Cancer Immunology & Immune Modulation(CI & IM) Research Group located at our Ridgefield, CT facility. The successful candidate will actively contribute to the identification and validation of novel IM therapeutic concepts, and to the development of novel and differentiated clinical candidates (both large and small molecules) for immunological diseases.

Duties& Responsibilities:

  • Conductexperiments aimed at target identification and validation using molecular andcellular immunological approaches

  • Design, execute,and troubleshoot experiments independently and efficiently

  • Analyze data and effectivelycommunicate results

  • Keepabreast of relevant literature and technologies to expand scientific/technicalknowledge

  • Collaborate with membersof IM and other departments (i.e. Inflammation & Respiratory; Cancer Immunology)when required to support project advancement and decision making

  • Prepare anddeliver internal scientific presentations and reports as needed

  • Operate andmaintain lab equipment

  • Comply withapplicable regulations, performing all work in a safe manner

  • Maintain properrecords in accordance with SOPs and policies.

Scientist II Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree froman accredited institution with three-plus (3+) years of experience in relatedscientific discipline or Master’s Degree from an accredited institution inrelated scientific discipline or equivalent experience in related field

  • Must have good understanding of basic scientificprinciples and research practices in the field of immunology

  • Prior research experience in molecular and immunologicaltechniques such as cell isolation/sorting, immunophenotyping, T cell functionalassays, ELISA/Luminex/MSD,mammaliancell tissue culture, transfection, western blots, flow cytometry and/or RT-qPCR

  • Experience with in vitro or in vivo model systems toevaluate immune cell function is preferred.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Proficiency with computers and data analysis software

  • Ability and willingness to work effectively in a highlycollaborative research environment

Scientist III Requirements :

  • Master’s Degree from anaccredited institution with three-plus (3+) years of experience in relatedscientific discipline, OR Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution withseven-plus (7+) years of experience in related scientific discipline orequivalent experience in related field

  • Must have good understanding of basic scientificprinciples and research practices in the field of immunology

  • Proficient in a variety of molecular and immunological techniques/technologiessuch as cell isolation/sorting, immunophenotyping, T cell functional assays,ELISA/Luminex/MSD, MLR, mammalian cell tissue culture, transfection, westernblots, flow cytometry and/or RT-qPCR.

  • Prior research experience in assay development/optimizationis desirable

  • Experience with in vitro or in vivo model systems toevaluate immune cell function is preferred.

  • Analyzes data, interprets results, troubleshoots andsolves technical issues independently.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Proficiency with computers and experience with dataanalysis software

  • Ability to work effectively in a highly collaborativeresearch environment

EligibilityRequirements:

  • Must be legallyauthorized to work in the United States without restriction.

  • Must be willing totake a drug test and post-offer physical (if required)

  • Must be 18 years ofage or older
