Boehringer Ingelheim is currently seeking a talented and innovative Scientist to join our CardioMetabolic Disease Research department located at our Ridgefield, CT facility. As a Scientist II for the Histology/ Imaging Group, you will focus on performing automatic imaging analysis and histolopathogical staining.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Initiates, designs, and performroutine histopathological staining, imaging acquisition, and imaging analysisin an independent and efficient manner with minimal supervision
Routinely maintain lab equipment; assistin the design and execution of non-routine experiments with supervision
Conducts exploratory experiments,proposes, gains support for and implements ideas from individual's knowledge ofscience and technology and understanding of drug discovery process
Performs literature searches andeffectively apply relevant information
Correctly and critically interpretexperimental results and propose appropriate follow-up
Attend team meetings when necessary;communicates own work clearly orally and in writing; participate in projectdiscussions
Write protocols, procedures, andtechnical reports; provide input for scientific reports
Report and treats data with a highlevel of integrity and ethics
Maintains proper records inaccordance with SOPs and company policies
Comply with applicable regulations;perform all work in a safe manner
Master’s Degree in biomedicalengineering, biology, pharmacology, or related field with 0-2 years’ experienceor Bachelor’s Degree with 2-5 years’ experience in related scientificdiscipline or equivalent experience in related field
Requires experienced inpreclinical imaging modalities or histo automation technology, experiencewith IHC, IF, and ISH / FISH is desirable
Demonstrated ability to succeed in a fast-pacedenvironment with evolving priorities and deadlines
Ability to operate laboratoryequipment with independence and to draft technical reports
Demonstrate written and verbalcommunication skills
Concise and accurate reporting oftechnical data and interpretation thereof
Proven problem solving ability and ableto act for supervisor in his/her absence
Appropriate level of understandingof applicable regulations
· Desired Experience, Skills and Abilities:
Basic skill of histology or digital pathology
Knowledge of automation and / or imaging analysis
Customimaging analysis algorithm development
Experience of InForm or HALO will be plus
Mustbe legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
Mustbe willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required)
Mustbe 18 years of age or older
