Description:

To oversee production activities in the Non-Marek’s production areas.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and participate in the production of antigens. Establishes trends to ensure production performance. Maintains adequate staffing and directly supervises around 10 employees. Also will cross-train in other production areas as time allows. Ensures compliance with USDA and local procedures.

  • Production Planning. Works with planning to allocate eggs and schedule production activities.

  • Final product formulations. Creates Oracle formulations and filling formulations.

  • Act as seed specialist for the areas to pull and maintain accurate inventory. Serve as back-up for other areas.

  • Maintain inventory (raw materials, media and lab supplies) as needed for the area. Process Oracle batches.

  • Updates and completes accurate and timely manufacturing records.

  • Investigates and completes deviations. Works with QA to ensure on-time completion.

  • Assists with and coordinates truck shipments of bulk materials between sites.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

May not own or have contact with other birds or poultry.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent with 5+ years of relevant manufacturing experience.

  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Science Related Field with 2+ years of relevant manufacturing experience.

  • Previous management experiences a plus.

Preferred:

  • Experience in a biological/pharmaceutical experience.

  • Experience in highly regulated industry.

  • Experience working in a team.

Desired Skills, Experience and Abilities:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent math skills.

  • Excellent computer skills including MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook. Previous experience with Oracle a plus.

  • Flexible and can adapt easily to changes within production.

  • Basic mechanical abilities to operate laboratory equipment.

  • Able to lift and carry 50 lbs. a distance of 50 feet.

  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.

  • Must be able to squat, bend, and stoop, as well as twisting and turning.

  • Manual dexterity and visual acuity are important.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.

  • Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required)

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
