Member of team with occasional role as line representative on a Process Science team. Frequently executes complex experiments in team setting with daily interaction with team. Capable of analysis of complex data on frequently encountered problems. Has discretion in tactical execution of experiments and analysis Represents work at functional area meetings and process science meetings. Will present at conferences and occasionally to customers.

This position will be responsible for supporting other scientists and make improvements in equipment, software, and workflow to assist planning, executing, developing and improving various processes within one Process Science department. The position will apply a scientific background and expertise in one area of Process Science, protein science to design, perform, analyze and document experiments. [This position focuses on providing data to other scientists, interpreting data to develop solutions and produce drug substance under GMP/GLP conditions to for toxicology and clinical studies].

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop scaleable processes purification processes

  • Perform comprehensive data analysis of process statistics, identify process deviations, prepare technical reports and propose process solutions and improvements.

  • Participate in training and development opportunities in order to gain an understanding of standards of practice, process science and departmental policies. Provide training and guidance to more junior scientists.

  • Develop technical solutions to problems, keep abreast of industry best practices and technological advancements in biologics manufacturing and utilizes those to further enhance department’s capabilities. Exchange technical information with team members for troubleshooting and process improvement and providing ongoing support].

  • Identify, propose, and execute process and procedural changes to improve process performance, robustness, productivity and efficiency.

  • Assist in project planning and team optimization, including evaluation of equipment and implementation of appropriate modifications and staff training to ensure employee safety and ensuring schedules of process equipment used in process science labs are maintained.

  • Efficient, lean & reliable execution and compliant documentation of cGMP manufacturing, with high quality and at low cost. Interface effectively with partner organizations both inside and outside of Process Sciences and external partners and customers.

  • Efficiently navigate site-wide and global quality systems. May drive SOP/BPR generation, review & approval process and RM qualification.

  • Ensure compliance with cGMP guidelines, quality policies, directives and procedure.


  • Bachelor’s degree, from an accredited institution, with four (4) to six (6) years relevant experience OR Master’s degree, from an accredited institution, with two (2) to four (4) years relevant experience OR Doctoral degree, from an accredited institution with at least two (2) years relevant experience

  • Statistical analysis skills

  • Operational Excellence

  • Six Sigma experiences will be plus

  • Technical knowledge in process science area

  • GMP clinical manufacturing

Desired Skills, Experience and Abilities:

  • Experience/Expertise in a scientific discipline (chemical/biochemical engineering, biopharmaceuticals, biotechnology, molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology)

  • Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required)

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
