Job Title: Director, Swine Professional Services - Swine experience preferred, but will consider candidates with Professional/Technical Services leadership experience within other species.
To oversee and lead the field Professional Services Veterinarian Team in providing professional technical support to the swine sales and marketing efforts of Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health (BIAH),including but not limited to, jointly developing and implementing account plans for Strategic and Key customers, actively representing BIAH at technical conferences, leading marketing support field trials and effectively collaborating with the HMC Field Research Services Team and the Diagnostic Laboratory facility and Team.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and strategic direction to the Professional Services team to ensure sales goals are met through alignment of the professional services team (PSV), in conjunction with the sales force. Establish annual objectives for PSV team members consistent with sales objectives as well as technical marketing objectives. Align PSV team with strategic, key and value accounts utilizing appropriate support tools (i.e. Synygy).
Ensures that the department is staffed with qualified personnel. Responsible for recruiting and hiring qualified candidates to ensure all allocated positions are filled. Effectively administers salary and reward programs. Coach/mentor, develop, motivate and monitor team members' performance, to include: actionable MAG Plans, regular coaching/mentoring, and conduct timely MAG Plan reviews. Identify performance challenges, create action plans and monitor the effectiveness of these action plans. Ensures active development plans and required technical knowledge of personnel.
Effectively manage expenses and direct team members to invest in activities that provide highest value to customers and yield the largest ROI. Focus PSV team resources per strategic direction of the swine leadership team.
Direct PSV team members, in collaboration with marketing technical managers and HMC Managers, to ensure strategic technical projects are successfully selected, implemented and completed utilizing approved and validated processes and procedures. Continually implement improvements in processes and procedures to maximize effectiveness of resources and customer centricity.
Ensure BIAH's active and professional technical representation at Global and Domestic Swine Conferences.
Represents Professional Services on the Swine Leadership Team in a cross functional manner creating and driving the Swine Business Unit Strategy. Collaborates cross functionally on an ongoing basis with Corporate Marketing colleagues, R&D, HMC, Sales & Marketing Solutions and peers from other business units.
Performs all Company business in accordance with all regulations (e.g., EEO, FDA, etc.) and Company policy and procedures. When violations are noted/observed they are to be immediately reported to management. Demonstrates high ethical and professional standards with all business contacts in order to maintain BIVI's excellent reputation within the animal health community and internally.
A veterinary degree (DVM or VMD) with a minimum of eight (8) years of experience in an animal health related position is required.
Advance degree (MS, PhD) in fields related to swine production medicine, and/or an MBA preferred, and/or AAVB board certification preferred.
One (1) to three (3) years leadership and project management experience
Ensure strict compliance to all pharmacovigilance requirements.
There are legal and competitor complexities with this position as the position oversees the field research and trials as well as providing technical support to sales force to meet sales goals.
This position requires management of the Professional Service Veterinarian Team as well as strategic thinking, innovation, coordination and strong leadership.
Desired Experience, Skills and Abilities:
- The Director of Professional Services role will be based out of Duluth, GA However, the Director must plan for approximately 30% travel to meet with direct reports, meet with customers and to attend offsite meetings/conferences.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required)
Must be 18 years of age or older
