The Position

As a Senior/Principal Pharmacometrician within ‘Drug metabolism and Pharmacokinetics, you will be an integral part of our multidisciplinary teams and drive model-informed decision making in and beyond drug development. You will live our “learn-and-confirm” mentality and strongly interact with all drug metabolism and pharmacokinetic disciplines as well as pharmaceutical development units within our international project teams.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • In your new role, you will ensure the timely delivery of state-of-the-art pharmacometric analyses for internal decision making throughout non-clinical drug development.

  • Moreover, you will perform high quality non-clinical pharmacometric analyses on a project or study level essential for internal decision-making and successful project development.

  • In addition, you will be responsible for scientific presentations of non-clinical pharmacometric analysis in interdisciplinary and international teams.

  • The evaluation and implementation of new pharmacometric technologies and approaches will also be part of your new role.

  • Furthermore, you will be essential for the inclusion of new and innovative concepts of pharmacometric analysis / modeling and simulation in overall or project specific strategies.

Additional tasks & responsibilities as Principal Scientist

  • As a Principal Pharmacometrician, you will coordinate pharmacometric activities within drug development projects.

  • You will shape and implement PK/PD and PBPK modelling strategies and approaches.

  • Furthermore, you will coach and support the development of (junior) scientists, trainees and PhDs/postdocs.

Requirements

  • PhD in Medicine, Pharmacometrics, Clinical Pharmacology, Pharmacy, Mathematics, Biology, Statistics or equivalent area with several years of experience in Pharmacometrics

  • Several years of experience in the conduct of pharmacometric data analysis with knowledge in pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics

  • Expertise in pharmacokinetic evaluations and compound assessments, including compartmental and non-compartmental PK analysis (e.g. Phoenix WinNonLin) and PK/PD modelling as well as physiological based modelling (PBPK) (e.g. Gastro Plus) with regard to absorption assessments

  • Solid knowledge and understanding of current national and international regulations and local requirements with regard to non-clinical development

  • High communication skills in English and German with internal and external partners

Additional requirements as Principal Scientist

  • PhD with long-term experience in a field related to PK/PD modelling, PBPK modelling, pharmacometrics, or similar; alternatively master’s degree with extensive expertise, preferably in the pharmaceutical sector

  • In-depth understanding of PK/PD modelling and simulation and PBPK modelling, as well as pharmacology, pharmaceutical development and DMPK-related topics

  • Experience in working and leading interdisciplinary and international teams
