To perform any process/support duties associated with the automated filling of Merial vaccines. Works within the filling department as a team member to ensure success in the activities associated with the safe and sterile preparation of vaccines.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Fill room qualified with the ability to setup and operate fill equipment independently in an aseptic environment. Demonstrates department specific aseptic techniques and capabilities.
Perform full scale lyophilization of vaccine lots, including monitoring of cycle parameters while in process.
Maintains facilities and equipment as required by Standard Operating Procedures
Participates in development of and assists in ensuring adherence to a daily schedule
Prepares laboratory, equipment and collects necessary supplies required to execute process
Communicates facility and inventory related needs daily
Learn and demonstrate understanding of basic sterilization principles and aseptic technique
Independently perform mechanical set up procedures in an aseptic environment
Perform basic repairs, maintenance, disassembly and reassembly of major equipment
Maintain their acceptable aseptic gowning qualification and media fill certification
Perform routine environmental monitoring
Assist with initial training responsibilities for Technicians.
Provide feedback at daily shift/performance meetings
Observe, challenge, advise, and support teammates to adhere to policies and procedures
Demonstrate a visible & tangible commitment to HSE, Lean Principles, and BI Values in all work related activities
Mentor other technicians to promote continuing compliance with approved procedures and cGMP requirements.
Performs hands-on processing according to Standard Operating Procedures
Contributes to and adheres to daily production schedule
Completes required documentation (MR’s, DC’s, batch tickets, etc) in an accurate, concurrent, and timely manner
Monitor and operate various computer control systems for production activities
Assist in writing and updating standard Operating Procedures and production batch production records
Ability to identify quality issues
Adept at problem solving. Specifically to identifying problem, root cause analysis, and CAPA development / execution.
Learn and apply USDA and APHIS requirements to filling operations
In addition to the above, other assigned duties & projects deemed appropriate within the position scope
Desired Skills, Experience and Abilities for Tech III:
Minimum of High School graduate or equivalent
2 years of manufacturing experience
Must possess a good math and mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform skills in an aseptic environment.
Must be able to function in an aseptic environment while maintaining the sterility of the product.
Able to work effectively and efficiently as a member of a team.
Able to communicate information and ideas so others will understand; with the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken and written words and sentences.
Read, interpret, and apply safety procedures, standard operating procedures, maintenance instructions, and departmental procedures
Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Communicate effectively with peers and management
Document steps accurately and legibly
Demonstrates good listening skills

Additional Requirements for Tech IV:
Must have some knowledge of operation of automated/manual filling machines, Restricted Access Barrier System (RABS).
3 years manufacturing experience
Bachelor of Science in a technical or Biology related field
Lean Manufacturing experience and Knowledge
Production work experience in a high volume manufacturing environment is desired.
Experience in filling of parenteral products under GMP conditions.
Experience working in a USDA biologics manufacturing facility
Proficient with Oracle and SAP
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required)
Must be 18 years of age or older
