Develop and cultivate analytical strategies for projects. Participate in select project subteams as an assay and/or clinical-analytical representative (and possibly at the project core team level). Independently develop, perform, and validate analytical assays for the evaluation of clinical or process development samples containing antigens/pathogens and report assay results in support of biologicals product development. Provide quality support through data acquisition, reporting, and communication.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Proactively develop analytical strategies that meet project requirements. Lead, drive, and follow through on the execution of the analytical strategy for the project.
Represent analytical group in select project subteams (and possibly at the project core team level). Exhibit effective reporting communication skills to be able to describe work and results to teams in a timely manner for decision making and project steering.
Independently execute in vitro (and occasionally in vivo) analytical assays to evaluate clinical trial animal samples. Accountable for performing all techniques and assays so test sessions yield valid results and repeated work is minimized. Train other personnel in new analytical technologies.
Lead, design, and contribute to the development and validation of assays for clinical studies and product development.
Accurately record all data from research techniques and tests on data capture forms, research notebooks, and raw data notebooks as appropriate. Perform initial data analysis so that accurate and precise results are obtained and reported. Generate documentation (ex. method protocols, reports, SOPs) in support of techniques or modification of techniques.
Able to seek out, identify, and learn new analytical technologies. Be able to perform, analyze and interpret results. Train other personnel in new analytical technologies.
Demonstrates leadership by maintaining a constructive and positive attitude for working on projects in the Bioanalytical Group, and for working at Boehringer Ingelheim. Follow Research & Development policies and procedures to maintain high quality standards within the established Quality System, and to contribute to continuous improvement by applying best practices (Operational Excellence).
Basic understanding of USDA regulation and Quality requirements for veterinary vaccines.
General understanding of animal vaccine development and production process and organization.
Ph. D. or Master's degree with at least 4+ years or Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of analytical assay experience in an animal health vaccine environment.
Able to competently perform multiple types of assays (biochemical, molecular and immunological in nature). Specifically extensive experience in serum neutralization assays, viral titration assays, ELISA, Western blotting, qPCR and HPLC/FPLC are specifically sought.

Desired Skills, Experience and Abilities:
- Background in development and production of animal vaccines or biologicals is highly preferred.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction
Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required)
Must be 18 years of age or older
