Lead the Molecular Pathology group, including management of technical support staff and scientific oversight of methods development and transfer for Tissue Cross Reactivity studies. Oversees methods development and technology evaluation for other innovative tissue based endpoints/biomarkers using state-of-the science and novel histopathology and imaging techniques in support of nonclinical safety studies.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsible for methods development for tissue cross reactivity (TCR) or target tissue distribution (TTD) studies, including method selection, positive and negative control material selection and/or generation, and oversight of primary antibody labeling and characterization (if necessary)
Performs veterinary pathology evaluations for non-project related studies conducted by the Integrative Toxicology section and/or Research (e.g., animal models, safety biomarker assessment studies, phenotyping of transgenic animals, etc.), providing results in the form of clear technical reports
Responsible for evaluation, recommendation and methods development/validation for molelcular pathology endpoints (e.g., immunohistochemistry, in situ hybridization, laser capture microdissection, quantitative image analysis, etc.) for subsequent application to non-clinical safety studies conducted by NDS US
Recruits, trains and develops laboratory scientific staff
Complies with all applicable regulations and company policies; ensures that work performed in area of responsibility is conducted in a safe and compliant manner; completes all required training on time and maintains proper records in accordance with SOPs and policies
Demonstrates fiscal responsibility over laboratory operating budgets by making cost effective recommendations and decisions regarding the purchase of supplies and equipment and outsourcing of study work
Veterinary Medical Degree from an accredited institution (DVM, VMD, BVSc or equivalent) and PhD from an accredited institution, with board certification in Veterinary Anatomic Pathology (DACVP, DECVP or equivalent)
Seven plus (7+) years of experience in toxicological pathology (pharmaceutical industry or biotechnology preferred)
A minimum of four (4) years of laboratory management experience
Strong leadership, collaboration and strategic skills
Demonstrates a broad knowledge of field and in depth expertise in molecular pathology techniques (eg, immunohistochemistry, in situ hybridization, laser capture microdissection, quantitative image analysis, etc.); Hands on experience in methods development and/or image analysis algorithm generation preferred.
Appropriate level of understanding and practice of applicable regulations
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required)
Must be 18 years of age or older
