Description:

Responsible for the development and implementation of internal engagement strategies and programs inclusive of employee and executive leadership/visibility communications, that directly impacts the successful integration of the two legacy companies, after the January acquisition of Merial by Boehringer Ingelheim. This role is responsible for driving the cultural change needed from a communications perspective to build a new company and ensure employee understanding and alignment of key business objectives.

Major responsibilities include, but not limited to, the following:

  • Leads the development and drives the implementation of an internal communication strategy aligned with business priorities that drives employee engagement and business performance. Aligns with external communications and media relations strategies to effectively drive results. Aligns with leadership development and integration project teams to ensure integration communication strategies effectively drive expected results.

  • Develops and implements continual and innovative communication tools that foster clarity of business objectives and feeling of belonging.

  • Responsible for leading the coordination, management, and communication of significant internal meetings and initiatives for all BIAH sites. Proactively drives internal related messages/forum development as well as associated action plan results.

  • Collaborate strongly with the integration and leadership development teams, ensuring communication strategies are adopted according to integration needs and time lines. Advises, recommends and provides counsel on integration communication topics within these teams.

  • Ensures the creation and management of BIAH’s Internal Communication Plan.Manages related training and associated activities as applicable.

  • Lead development and management of executive leadership communications, including all employee and leadership events.

  • Develops well-coordinated integration communications approach for the organization while aligning with BI USA as well as global strategy.Contributes to the growth and development of the company of a unified integrated company image and reputation.

  • Provides oversight for all internal and external communications related to integration, including employee announcements, company communications, publication of company newsletters, media materials, and web-based materials.

  • Provides leadership for the internal communications department. Coach, mentor and manage communications professionals. Ensure that performance opportunities are proactively managed through the Performance Management system and all department employees have current actionable development plans. Prepare expense, and head count budgets, including monthly budget forecasts and annual budgets as needed.

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Requires a Four (4) year degree in PR, Communications, Journalism, Human Resources or closely related field from an accredited institution.

  • Requires a minimum of 10+ years progressive experience working with media, industry, government, and community partners.

  • The proven ability to develop, implement and lead a Public Relations strategy that aligns with the strategic direction of the Company and organizational style.

  • Demonstrated skills in establishing and maintaining effective industry and government relationships.

  • Strong collaboration, project management, interpersonal, communication, public speaking, negotiation and decision-making skills are a must.

  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products including advanced Project, Excel, Power Point and Word functions.

  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must have excellent planning, organizing and implementation skills. Results oriented, cooperative and systemic thinker.

  • Excellent project management and priority-setting skills. Must exhibit good judgment.

  • Ability to interface with and advise executives along with the ability to build relationships at all levels, collaborate and influence for results.

  • Ability to lead and influence both with and without authority.

  • Position requires excellent planning, organizing and implementation skills and a results oriented, cooperative and systemic thinker.

  • Position requires a high level person with superior verbal and written communication skills, who has the ability to communicate both internally and externally at a very high level with success in managing media relationships.

  • Requires the ability to interface with, and advise executives along with the ability to build relationships at all levels collaborate and influence for results.
